Clerestory House

This addition to a small modern residence outside of Baltimore more than doubled the size of the original starter house. Compositionally, two new simple cubes have been added to the original one, while slender, taller volumes with clerestory lighting connect the cubes. Staggered relationships between these parts create landscaped gardens and courtyards that engage the wooded site and break down the new scale of the house.
